This laboratory has experience of providing services using molecular biology methodologies such as PCR and Real time-PCR. The laboratory performs assays and bioassays for activity/potency determination of pharmaceuticals and biopharmaceuticals, as well as a range of assays for impurity detection.

For microorganism identification, the laboratory has set up the Biolog system.

The laboratory has implemented hygiene and biocontamination control methods to test the production of safe and stable products, namely food products, as well as methods to evaluate the bactericidal activity of chemical disinfectants and antiseptics used in food, industrial and domestic areas.
