Process sustainability

Research on Sustainability is dedicated to identifying, documenting, and improving business performance based on principles that are economically sound, environmentally healthy, and socially responsible. It is oriented towards the development of sustainable technological processes, ranging from environmental to medical applications, by continuously exploiting both interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches, and emerging disciplines, such as green chemistry (ionic liquids, super critical carbon dioxide). It aims to improve old or develop new industrial processes by "meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations" (as defined by the United Nation's World Commission on Environment and Development).
