The Pilot Plant of iBET can carry out a full development and optimization of production processes for biological products, comprising the bio reaction and the separation and purification processes. The pilot scale bioreactors can handle different biological systems as needed, such as bacteria, fungi, yeast, viruses, mammal and insect cells.

Animal Cell Technology

The Animal Cell Technology infrastructural unit of iBET complements the Pilot Plant, and specializes in the optimization of processes for the biological production of complex drugs, including bioreaction, purification, characterization and stability studies. Insect and mammalian cell lines used in the pharmaceutical indusry are routinely cultured (e.g., CHO, BHK, 293, BAE, Sf-9 and Sf-21).
