About the Amélia de Mello Foundation:

The Amélia da Silva de Mello Foundation was established in October 1964 on the initiative of D. Manuel de Mello, son-in-law of Alfredo da Silva, in honor of his wife, to continue and reinforce the social work of the CUF Group. The purpose of the Foundation, from the beginning of its activity, is to provide subsidies to scientific research institutions applied to industry, or to the progress of the medical sciences, in addition to the award of scholarships. From the earliest moment up to the present day, the Foundation's income consists of income from the assets of its assets or services rendered, from donations and grants, inheritances, legacies or donations. The Foundation's current assets are predominantly made up of financial investments, with the preference of companies that integrate the universe of participations of the Groups developed after 1974 by the successors of D. Manuel de Mello.
