iBET's NutraBrass project awarded at the Green Project Awards


NutraBrass - Nutraceuticals from Brassicaceae: High Pressure Processing of Cruciferous food plants to recover biologically active ingredients with health promoting effects, a project developed by the Nutraceuticals and Bioactives Process Technology Lab of iBET’s Food and Health Division, was distinguished, from among 9 finalists, with an Honourable Mention by the Green Project Awards (GPA), in the category of Research and Development.

The GPA are an initiative of the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), GCI and Quercus ANCN, which recognizes and distinguish projects that promote and contribute to a sustainable development. Distributed in 10 different categories, the 74 finalists were selected from 140 applications, based on the innovation and quality of the projects and by the promotion of good environmental practices.

The ceremony of the 10th GPA edition was held at the Alfândega do Porto on January 12th, along with the V Conference GPA'17 themed "Citizenship and the Future of Sustainability", which was attended by the Oporto Mayor, Rui Moreira, by Ana Lehmann, the Secretary of State of Industry and by João Pedro Matos Fernandes, the Portuguese Minister of Environment.
