Sofia Moreira, researcher at Downstream Process Development Lab participated in 2021 PLANOVA Virtual Symposium, held from 30 September to 1 October 2021.
Sofia Moreira presented an oral communication entitled “Lentiviral vectors purification: improving current processes and exploring new strategies”, within the session “New Technologies and Trends”. This talk was focused on the need for more scalable and robust production platforms and the solutions available.
Since the gene therapy field is transitioning to suspension systems, it is necessary to adapt the current purification processes to cope with this new challenge. The oral communication represented a case-study that evaluated the impact of this new production system, specifically on the initial steps of Lentiviral vector’s purification process.
2021 PLANOVA Virtual Symposium was an workshop organized by Asahi Kasei Bioprocess on Planova virus removal filters. The symposium gathered experts on downstream process development and the manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals and was a valuable opportunity to get to know Planova product pipeline and services.
