Ana Barbas, researcher at iBET and Bayer, is one of 101 scientists featured in the third edition of the book “Women in Science”, a tribute by Ciência Viva – the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture to Portuguese women scientists.
The book assemble testimonials of female scientists from different generations, with portraits of Clara Azevedo, José Carlos Carvalho, Luís Filipe Catarino and Rita Carmo.
In the book, Ana Barbas shares: “I AM A CHEMIST. I always aimed working in Science. From an early age, even before enrolling in university, I was very interested in genetics. Not surprisingly my path led me to biotechnology. I always remember being eager to learn how to make a positive impact in the life of patients thus, at the moment, I am fully dedicated to oncology research. Personalised medicine is the future and my latest challenge is to contribute to the development of cell therapies to cure solid tumours in an international pharma company.”
