Paula Alves, iBET’s CEO, and Patrícia Gomes-Alves, Head of the Sanofi Satellite lab at iBET, were present at the inauguration of the renovated Sanofi Portugal facilities, on 17 November, at Lagoas Park, Oeiras. Also present in this event was the Portuguese Health Minister, Manuel Pizarro, the Ambassador of France in Portugal, Hélène Farnaud-Defromont, and several Portuguese entities from the Health & Pharma area.

According to Sanofi Portugal, “the new facilities reflect Sanofi’s strong commitment in the country with a new space focused on innovation and process simplification”. In her acknowledgement to the event’s attendees, Helena Freitas, Country Lead at Sanofi Portugal, stated: “This event marks our commitment to providing a more flexible and sustainable environment, focused on the well-being of our employees and adjusted to current work models. With the new space, Sanofi will continue its mission of affirming the value of science to improve people’s lives through providing the best health technologies for those who need it most.”

The presence of iBET in this ceremony marks a long-lasting partnership between the two institutions, which was consolidated in 2018 with the creation of the Sanofi Satellite Laboratory at iBET. Currently with 6 members, the Sanofi team at iBET focuses on research projects in the areas of monoclonal antibodies and gene therapy.
