iBET is recruiting scientists of different maturity levels (Team Leader included) to establish a new Translational Immunology team in our rapidly growing Health & Pharma Division. These exciting new positions aim to fill the knowledge gap in cellular immunology and complement existing competence in projects ranging from cell biotechnology to gene editing, vaccinology for gene and cell therapies, as well as complex cellular models, aimed at the development of novel Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs).
The new Translational Immunology Team will be part of iBET’s Animal Cell Technology Unit, a large multidisciplinary team of bioengineers, cell and molecular biologists, biochemists, and data scientists who closely collaborate in these different research projects.
iBET is a private, non-profit research institute, working on the interface between academic and industry research in Life Sciences and Biotechnology. iBET’s offers state-of-the-art R&D infrastructure for both cell bioengineering and biology research, including flow cytometry, cell sorting and microscopy plus a Mass Spectrometry Unit and a Late-Stage R&D and Bioproduction Unit. In early 2023, we will expand our premises and R&D activity with the inauguration of the new iBET Biopharma building.

In this role you will apply your research experience in cellular immunology to furthering iBET’s ongoing developments in ATMPs. Selected candidates will be encouraged to contribute to ongoing R&D projects in collaboration with the international pharmaceutical industry and to attract new projects with existing and new partners from both academia and industry. Depending on experience, you will have the opportunity to lead research teams and/or projects and drive scientific excellence by presenting data to key collaborators and at conferences, and by publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
Education and Experience
MSc or PhD Degree in a relevant scientific field with significant experience in Immunology, Immuno-Oncology or equivalent.
- Experience in laboratory work and deep understanding of the interplay between adaptive/innate immunology with relevance to prevention and therapy of diseases.
- Strong motivation to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with strong focus on translational research.
- Curiosity, flexible mindset and willingness to learn
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication, and networking skills
- Experience of interacting optimally across subject areas, cultures and expertise.
Experience in collaboration projects with both academic and pharmaceutical industry partners
- International Research Experience
- Experience in project management
- Experience in supervision and/or managing a research team
