Inês Isidro is responsible for the area of Computational Biotechnology in the Animal Cell Technology Unit at iBET.
She holds a MSc in Biological Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, and obtained her PhD in Bioengineering Systems with the MIT-Portugal Program. During her PhD, she developed and applied hybrid metabolic models to improve the production process for an antibody fragment in Pichia pastoris. She was also a co-founder of the biotech startup MediaOmics, where she supported the development of a platform to customize culture media formulations.
She joined iBET in 2016, first as postdoc under the supervision of Professor Manuel Carrondo and Professor Paula Alves and soon became the main responsible for the Computational Biotechnology area, working with different groups within the Animal Cell Technology Unit and with international partners.
