Patrícia Gomes-Alves is the Head of the Sanofi Satellite Lab, integrated in the Animal Cell Technology Unit of iBET’s Health & Pharma Division since 2018, and is responsible for the scientific coordination of the Mass Spectrometry Unit since 2013.
Patrícia graduated in Biochemistry (University of Lisbon) and in 2009 finished her PhD in Biology from ITQB-NOVA, focusing her research on proteomics and mass spectrometry (MS) tools.
At iBET, Patrícia has been developing and implementing MS-based workflows to complement characterization of bioprocesses and resulting cell and gene products, aiming at supporting activities in research & development. Patricia’s research interests cover the areas of cell & gene therapy, biologics, bioprocessing understanding and bioanalytics, with a special focus on MS and -omics tools.
Additionally, Patrícia obtained a certification in Project Management (PRINCE2® Foundations, 2018) and did a post-graduation course in General Management (Nova School of Business and Economics, 2020).
