Teresa Crespo is Head of the Food Safety & Microbiology Area at iBET and Group Leader of the Laboratory of Microbiology of Man-Made Environments at ITQB-NOVA.
Teresa Crespo graduated in Biology at Faculty de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa and holds a PhD in Biological Engineering from Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa.
Her work focus the microbial characterization/ecology of food/water quality/safety/authenticity, bioremediation and water reuse. The team comprises 3 Postdoctoral Researchers, 2 PhD Students, 1 MSc Student.
Dr. Crespo participated in national and EU projects (JNICT, FCT, ANI, FP6, FP7, H2020), published 76 research papers, 1 book and 8 book chapters receiving a total of 1948 citations (h-index 27) She has been National Member of the evaluation panel for PhD Programme of FCT. Dr. Crespo has long experience in Quality Management Systems: GLP/OECD and GMP serving as Quality Assurance Manager of iBET Analytical Services Unit.
