Research Fellowship (BSc) – Natural Bioactives and Nutraceuticals

iBET, has a open position for a research fellowship for BSc. available within the project ”Agenda VIIAFOOD – Platform for Valorisation, Industrialization and Commercial Innovation for AgroFood” Ref.PRRVF_VIIAFOOD_DEC_24, financed by_Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência (PRR)

– BSc with a minimum of 12 values in the scientific areas described above

– Experience in fast screening methodologies, namely infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), fluorescence spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy

– Experience in analytical methodologies, namely liquid and gas chromatography (HPLC, GC) and multidimensional chromatography (e.g., GCxGC-MS)

– Critical thinking, good organizational and communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

– Proficient use of the English language

– By the starting date of the fellowship, the fellow should be attending a non-degree academic course

1) Analysis of olive oil samples using fast screening methodologies (Fluorescence, Raman, FTIR and NMR spectroscopy); 2) Identification and quantification of contaminants (mineral oil hydrocarbons) in food matrices using HPLC, GC and GCxGC-MS.

The fellowship will have a duration of 6 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1 of January of 2024.
