Research Fellowship (MSc) – Cell Line Dev. & Molecular Virology
Intro
Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica (iBET), Oeiras, Portugal, has an open position for a research fellowship in the field of Biotechnology available within the project “NAAVigate-Novel engineering strategies to unblock AAV vector cellular trafficking: enhancing transduction efficiencies Ref. 779/780, financed by iBET funds through iBETxplore.
Admission Requirements
Education:
- Minimum of Master’s degree with a grade of 18 the or above.
Professional experience:
- Minimum 1-year laboratory experience in molecular biology techniques.
- Minimum 1-year laboratory experience in mammalian cell culture.
- Laboratory experience in constructing expression plasmids for mammalian cells.
- Laboratory experience in mammalian cell transfection.
- Laboratory experience in viral vector production (AAV, LV) for gene therapy and viral titration assays.
- Experience in flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, and qPCR techniques.
- Proficient in English.
- Motivated for research in the field of Animal Cell Biotechnology.
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Immediate availability.
Work Plan
The fellow will provide technical and scientific support to the mentioned project, particularly in plasmid construction, production and titration of adeno-associated viral vectors, and transduction assays by cytometry, microscopy and PCR assays (qPCR and ddPCR).
Fellowship Duration
The fellowship will have a duration of 12 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1 of July of 2024.
