Research Fellowship (MSc) – Cell Line Development & Molecular Virology

iBET,  has a open position for a research fellowship in the field of Biotechnology available within the project ““STELLAR – Development of a stable producer cell line platform for recombinant AAV production devoid of helper virus” Ref. 790/791, financed by iBET funds through iBETxplore.

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree with a grade of 17 or above.
• Minimum of Master’s degree with a grade of 19 or above.
• Minimum 4-year laboratory experience in molecular biology techniques.
• Minimum 4-year laboratory experience in mammalian cell culture.
• Laboratory experience in constructing expression plasmids for mammalian cells.
• Laboratory experience in mammalian cell transfection.
• Laboratory experience in viral vector production (AAV, LV) for gene therapy and viral titration assays.
• Experience in flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, and qPCR techniques.
• Proficient in English.
• Motivated for research in the field of Animal Cell Biotechnology.
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Immediate availability.

The fellow will provide technical and scientific support to the mentioned project, particularly in plasmid construction, transient and stable transfection of mammalian cells, production and titration of adeno-associated and lentiviral vectors, and transduction assays by cytometry, microscopy and PCR assays (qPCR and ddPCR).

The fellowship will have a duration of 12 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1 of January of 2025.
