Research Fellowship (MSc) – Microbiology & Molecular Biology

iBET, has two open positions for research fellowships in the field of Microbiology and Molecular Biology available within the project “EpicAlgaeBoost- Exploring phytohormone biosynthesis and signaling pathways in microalgae to boost its biomass and high-value compounds productivity” Ref. LISBOA2030-FEDER-00703100, financed by FEDER and national funds.

-Master’s degree, recognized by a Portuguese institution, in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biological Engineering, or related areas.

-Experience in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Bioinformatics techniques.

-High motivation to learn new techniques, conduct interdisciplinary research, and integrate into a dynamic team.

-Good organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

-High proficiency in English.

-Currently enrolled in an academic degree – Postgraduate program.

-Cultivation of selected microalgae

-Genetic engineering of microalgae (CRISPR-Cas, gene overexpression)

-Transcriptomics and metabolomics data analysis

The fellowship will have a duration of 12 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1 of June of 2025.
