Research Fellowship (MSc) – Natural Bioactives and Nutraceuticals

iBET, has an open position for a research fellowship for MSc, available within the project ”Agenda VIIAFOOD – Platform For Valorization, Industrialization, And Innovation for the Agri-Food Sector In Portugal”, funded by the Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência (PRR).

– MSc with a minimum of 14 values in the scientific areas described above

– Experience in fast screening methodologies, namely Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Fluorescence Spectroscopy, Raman Spectroscopy and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy

– Experience in analytical methodologies, namely Liquid and Gas chromatography (HPLC, GC) and Multidimensional chromatography (e.g., GCxGC-MS)

– Valued experience in data analysis and processing (multivariate data analysis).

– Critical thinking, good organizational and communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

– Proficient use of the English language

– By the starting date of the fellowship, the fellow should be attending a non-degree academic course

1) Analysis of olive oil samples using fast screening methodologies (Fluorescence, Raman, FTIR and NMR spectroscopy);

2) Identification and quantification of compounds present in olive oil samples (and by-products) using HPLC, GC and GCxGC-MS;

3) Statistical data analysis.

The fellowship will have a duration of 6 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1 of April of 2025.
