Research Fellowship (MSc) – Natural Bioactives and Nutraceuticals

iBET, has an open position for a research fellowship in the field of BioPUR-CPC – “High-Efficiency Bioactive Purification using Centrifugal Partition Chromatography”, financed by internal funds.

• Master’s degree with a minimum grade of 16 in the scientific areas mentioned above;
• Experience in purification of bioactive compounds from natural matrices (centrifugal partition chromatography – CPC);
• Experience in analytical methodologies, including liquid chromatography (HPLC);
• Experience in bioactivity and toxicity assays using human cell lines;
• Critical thinking, strong organizational skills, and ability to work in a team;
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, both in English and Portuguese.

BioPUR-CPC project aims to explore and optimize the CPC purification process for bioactive compounds obtained from natural matrices.

The project activities include:

• Selection of biphasic solvent systems for CPC;
• Optimization of CPC operating parameters;
• Quantification and bioactivity evaluation of the target compound.

The fellowship will have a duration of 6 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 18 of February of 2026.
