Research Fellowship (MSc) – Natural Bioactives and Nutraceuticals

iBET, has an open position for a master’s Research Fellowship within the scope of the project “PeptiByPro”, Project Ref. PI-783, funded by internal funds of iBET.

Master’s degree with a minimum grade of 16 in the scientific areas mentioned above

Experience in analytical methodologies including liquid and gas chromatography (HPLC, GC);

Experience in animal cell culture techniques;

Experience in bioactivity and toxicity assays using cell lines for cosmetic applications;

Experience in extraction of natural compounds from plant matrices;

Critical thinking, strong organizational skills, and ability to work in a team

Good interpersonal and communication skills, both in English and Portuguese

The main responsibilities include research activities within the scope of the PeptiByPro project, focusing on the evaluation of the cosmetic potential of natural extracts.  The tasks to be developed include chemical characterization of natural extracts, cytotoxicity evaluation, anti-ageing and anti-hyperpigmentation evaluation using cell-free and cell-based assays, preparation of scientific reports, as well as active participation in periodic meetings. Additionally, the position requires contributing to general laboratory tasks, promoting a culture of collaboration, achievement, and continuous improvement.

The fellowship will have a duration of 6 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1 of July of 2026.
