Research Fellowship (MSc) – Natural Bioactives and Nutraceuticals

iBET, has an open position for a research fellowship for MSc, available within the project ”Agenda VIIAFOOD – Platform For Valorization, Industrialization, And Innovation for the Agri-Food Sector In Portugal”, funded by the Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência (PRR).

– MSc with a minimum of 16 values in the scientific areas described above

– Experience in animal cell culture techniques

– Experience in bioactivity assays (antioxidant, antiproliferative, and anti-inflammatory activities) of natural compounds and extracts using chemical and cell-based assays

– Experience in cell permeability assays

– Experience in cell and molecular biology techniques, namely Western Blotting, PCR, immunofluorescence assay, and image analysis

– Critical thinking, good organizational and communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team

– Proficient use of the English language

– By the starting date of the fellowship, the fellow should be attending a non-degree academic course

1) Implementation of cell-based assays to evaluate the bioactivity of natural extracts;

2) Characterization of the extracts regarding their chemical composition and bioactivity.

The fellowship will have a duration of 6 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1 of March of 2025.
