Research Fellowship (MSc) – Single-cell transcriptomics
Intro
A call is open for the award of a Master’s Research Fellowship for research activities under the project “Workflows for single-cell transcriptomics in human cell-based bioprocesses and in vitro models,” Ref. iBET_2024_SinTra, funded by internal funds
Admission Requirements
Master’s degree with a final grade of 16 or higher (on a scale of 20) in the scientific areas described.
The candidate should have:
- Previous experience in the development of cell lines and/or experience in the production of viral vectors.
- Proven experience in aseptic techniques for cell culture and other laboratory best practices.
- Proven experience in Molecular Biology techniques (such as qPCR or cell engineering approaches).
Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English (candidates with internships and/or periods abroad will be valued).
Good organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
Work Plan
The SinTra project aims to develop a customized workflow for single-cell transcriptomics at iBET. The focus of this fellowship is to genetically engineer the molecular pathways identified as associated with high rAAV production in HeLaS3 cells, with the goal of increasing rAAV titers. The main tasks of this workplan are:
- Optimization of HeLaS3 cell culture and rAAV production.
- Generation of cell lines for the production of viral vectors.
- Generation of genetically modified clones using CRISPR or related technology.
Fellowship Duration
The fellowship will have a duration of 12 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1 of October of 2024.
