Research Fellowship (MSc) – 2 positions – Stem and Immune Cell Bioengineering
Intro
iBET, has an open position for a research fellowship in the field of Biological Engineering available within the project “ScaleKiO-Scalable manufacturing of hiPSC-derived kidney organoids for cystinosis modelling “, Ref. projeto PI – 797, financed by internal funds
Admission Requirements
Bachelor and Master in Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry and related areas, with final Master grade equal or superior to 18/20.
Experience in:
1) animal cell technology including culture of human cells;
2) cell culture in stirred-tank bioreactor;
3) analytics for characterization of cells (RT-PCR, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence microscopy. Cell metabolism and functionality).
Proficient use of the English language, both spoken and written. Motivation for applied research and good teamwork skills will be valued.
Work Plan
Development of a scalable bioprocess for generation of kidney organoids derived from hiPSC. Implementation of analytic tools for characterization of cell metabolism and functionality, and for characterization of the bioprocess.
Fellowship Duration
The fellowship will have a duration of 6 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1 April 2026.
