Research Fellowship (MSc) – Stem and Immune Cell Bioengineering
Intro
iBET, has an open position for a research fellowship in the field of Biological Engineering available within the project “hiPSC-kiO”, Ref. projeto PI – 784, financed by internal funds.
Admission Requirements
Bachelor and Master in Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry and related areas, with final Master grade equal or superior to 16/20.
Experience in:
1) human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC) culture techniques;
2) cell culture in 3D strategies and bioreactor technology;
3) culture of kidney organoids and 4) analytics for characterization of cells and organoids (RT-PCR,flow cytometry, immunofluorescence microscopy).
Proficient use of the English language, both spoken and written. Motivation for applied research and good teamwork skills will be valued.
Work Plan
Development of a scalable bioprocess for generation of kidney organoids derived from hiPSC. Implementation of analytic tools for characterization of hiPSC and derived Kidney Organoids along the process.
Fellowship Duration
The fellowship will have a duration of 6 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1 April 2026.
