Research Fellowship (MSc) – Microbiology and Molecular Biology

iBET, has an open position for a research fellowship available within the project “ForSea, Formulating seaweed products as high-value ingredients for food and nutraceuticals markets” Ref. SBEP/0011/2024, financed by national funds through FCT/MCTES

-Academic degree Master in Biological Engineering, Biology, or closely related field

– Experience in the development of separation processes, namely involving biological systems;

– Proven experience in transnational research projects;

– Good organizational and communication skills and ability to work as part of a team;

– High English proficiency.

Characterization of matrices derived from macroalgae; separation of components (e.g., carbohydrate fraction) through membrane processes; characterization and use of fractions in fermentation processes; subsequent analysis of associated microbiomes.

The fellowship will have a duration of 12 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1 of August of 2026.
