Research Fellowship (MSc) – Translational Immunology

Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica (iBET), Oeiras, Portugal, has an open position for a research fellowship in the field of Translational Immunology available within the project “A universal platform to assess potency of tumor-reactive T cells“ Ref. projeto 776/IBETXplore call 2022, financed by iBETxplore 2022.

Education

Master’s degree in Biological, Chemical or Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related areas, with an average classification of at least 15.

Professional Experience

• Molecular biology methods (design and construction of plasmids; production, transfection, and transduction of lentivirus; PCR)
• Analytical methods (Omics, flow cytometry, mass spectrometry, functional assays);
• Relevant software for data analysis and visualization (e.g. GraphPad Prism, ImageJ, FlowJo)
• Reading and understanding scientific literature
• Analysis, discussion, and presentation of scientific data

Development of cell lines with variable antigen presentation for use in testing the potency of immunotherapies. Main tasks include:

• Culture of primary immune cells and cell lines
• Genetic modification of cells
• Functional characterization of cells

The fellowship will have a duration of 12 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1^st of October of 2024.
