Research Fellowship (PhD) – Downstream Process Development
Intro
Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica (iBET), Oeiras, Portugal, invites applications for a research fellowship in the field of Biotechnology available within the the scope of the “Precisely Patterned Nanofibers for High Performance Bioseparations-PURE” project, which received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under the grant contract number 899732 Call: H2020-FETOPEN-2018-2020 (FET Open – Novel ideas for radically new technologies).:
Admission Requirements
Education:
Doctorate less than 3 years in Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, Biology
Professional experience:
Good organizational and communication skills and ability to work as part of a team;
Experience in HPLC ; experience in control and automation will be a plus.
Proficient use of the English language, experience with MatLab, Julia, gPROMS, AMPL, LaTeX, Python, MySQLServer will be considered.
Work Plan
The candidate will be actively involved in the scientific activities of the project and research group. In particular, the candidate is intended to perform the following activities:
- Processing and characterization of purification materials;
- Deploy advanced data analytics including mechanistic models to improve purification process understanding.
- Assistance in the production of technical reports and documents;
- Support in science dissemination and communication activities.
Fellowship Duration
The fellowship will have a duration of 6 months. The expected starting date is 1 of September of 2024.
