Research Fellowship (PhD) – Microbiology & Molecular Biology

iBET, has an open position for a research fellowship in the field of Microbiology available within the project Tec4Green, Ref. P-1064, financed by funds from IPAMEI – PRR (Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência), “Agendas/Alianças Mobilizadoras para Reindustrialização”

– Academic degree – Doctorate in Chemical Engineering or related scientific area.

– Experience in the recovery and encapsulation of compounds from saline medium using membrane processes technologies, including membrane emulsification.

– Good communication and teamwork skills.

– Good knowledge of the English language.

The work will contribute to the project’s Workpackage 1 activity.

Investigate and characterize natural compounds obtained by extraction, taking into account their bioactive properties (e.g., biopesticides, bio stimulants, antioxidants, among others), in order to identify compounds that can be used in the agri-food and agroforestry industries, both for crop protection and for promoting their growth and nutrition.

The fellowship will have a duration of 8 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1 of May of 2025.
