Research Technician – Natural Bioactives and Nutraceuticals Area
Offer Description
iBET is seeking a highly motivated Research Technician to join the Natural Bioactives & Nutraceuticals Area. The selected candidate will work in the Tec4Green project, financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan. As a Research Technician in this project, you will contribute to developing a new generation of hybrid and biological products for the protection and nourishment of agricultural crops. You will have a major role in extracting natural bioactive extracts and compounds with potential phytosanitary applications. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a wide research network in close contact with partners of the national agrifood industry.

Tasks and Responsabilities
- To execute research activities in the scope of the Agenda Tec4Green in the tasks that aim to develop and industrialize a new generation of hybrid and biological products to protect and nourish crops.
- To perform extractions to agro-food by-products.
- To isolate bioactive compounds from natural complex extracts.
- To prepare scientific reports and participate in periodic meetings.
- To contribute to general laboratory tasks in a culture of achievement and continuous improvement.
Admission Requirements
Education and Experience
- MSc Degree in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering or equivalent, and at least 2 years of research experience in the natural bioactive area.
Technical Skills
- Experience in extraction processes of bioactive compounds from natural matrices.
- Experience in working with high pressure technologies, namely sub- and supercritical fluids.
- Experience in performing microwave and/or ultrasound-assisted extractions.
