Biography
I am a scientist at the Food Safety and Microbiology Lab, currently engaged in the Tec4green PRR project. My work focuses on testing the efficacy of novel bio-fungicides derived from bacterial and plant sources for plant protection.
My research expertise includes biocontrol, plant physiology, grafting, tissue culture, and plant molecular biology.
I hold bachelor’s degrees in Rural Development Cooperation from the University of Padova (UNIPD, Italy) and Agronomic Engineering from the Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA, Portugal), where I also earned a master’s degree in Agronomic Engineering.
In 2021, I completed my Ph.D. in Plant Science at ITQB, Portugal, and the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology (MPI-MP, Germany), focusing on grapevine graft incompatibility. Previously, I developed biocontrol and biostimulant methods for plant improvement at InPP (2023) and worked on the micropropagation of improved chestnut rootstocks resistant to ink disease at INIAV (2015-2016).
