iBET invites applications for a master research fellowship in the field of ATMP bioprocess optimization, available within the project MintIC – Modelbased intensification of AAV production in insect cells, financed internally by iBET through the iBETXplore project call.
Work plan: Develop a platform for model-assisted bioprocess design to enable intensification of advanced therapeutic medicinal products (ATMPs) production. The target process will be a previously established platform using insect cell culture to produce adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors, which are one of the promising vectors used for gene therapy. Specific goals are centered in two fundamental fields for bioprocess development:
1) Establishment of an in silico platform for model-assisted bioprocess intensification;
2) Establishment of analytical methods for quantification of additional metabolites relevant for this platform.
This work will be supervised through periodic one-on-one and group meetings, which will include scientific and technical guidance and discussion. Nevertheless, the applicant is expected to contribute critically with literature review and in defining a scientific approach to the problem.
