Cristina Peixoto Discusses Emerging Trends in Biologics Production at International School in Brazil
Sharing Expertise on Downstream Processing, Continuous Manufacturing, and Innovative Technologies for Biopharmaceutical Production
Cristina Peixoto, Head of iBET’s Downstream Process Development Lab and Coordinator of the Bioproduction Unit, was an invited speaker at the 9th International School of Production of Biologics, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from December 1-5.
In her presentation, Cristina highlighted the challenges in biologics purification, discussing emerging trends such as continuous processing and advanced analytics, and introduced iBET’s competences in downstream process development and the integration of innovative technologies for biopharmaceutical manufacturing.

Organized periodically by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, the event brought together international experts and students to discuss technical and regulatory aspects, as well as market issues in this rapidly growing field of biotechnology.
iBET thanks Prof. Leda dos Reis Castilho and remaining organization team for the kind invitation and for organizing an event that promotes capacity building in biologics production.
