Saffron By-products and Halophyte Plants as a Source of Natural Ingredients for Cosmetics
Scientists from iBET’s Natural Bioactives and Nutraceuticals Area presented their latest research at the 3rd Natural Cosmetics International Meeting, held in Kielnarowa/Rzeszów, Poland, on September 17-19.
As part of the scientific program, PhD students Leonor Costa and Juliana Oliveira, delivered oral presentations based on the work developed in their doctoral theses.
- Leonor Costa delivered a talk on “Valorizing Saffron By-Products and Bioactive Compounds as a Sustainable Source of Natural Colorants for Cosmetic Applications”, highlighting new approaches to promote the sustainable sourcing of natural colorants. Congratulations to Leonor Costa for receiving the Best Oral Presentation Award.
- Juliana Oliveira presented “Unlocking Halophyte Plants’ Potential for Skin Formulations: A Natural Source of Anti-aging, Anti-hyperpigmentation, and Wound Healing Ingredients”, focusing on the bioactive potential of halophyte plant species for cosmetic formulations with health-promoting effects on skin.
