2 Oral and 4 Poster Contributions by iBET Scientists at European Cell & Gene Therapy Conference
ISCT Europe Regional Meeting 2024
A team of iBET scientists from the Stem and Immune Cells Bioengineering Lab and the Cell Line Development and Molecular Virology Lab, attended the International Society for Cell & Gene Therapy (ISCT) Europe Regional Meeting 2024, held in Gothenburg, Sweden, from September 4-6th.
The conference, themed “Bridging Minds, Building Futures: From Concept to Standard of Care with Cell and Gene Therapies (CGTs)”, brought together leading experts committed to advancing the translation of cell and gene therapies into safe and effective clinical treatments.
iBET scientists made significant contributions to the scientific program, delivering two invited oral presentations:
- Ana S Coroadinha (Head of the Cell Line Dev. And Molecular Virology Lab) – “Extending AAV genome cargo: delivering large therapeutic genes to treat Duchenne Muscular Dystrophies”;
- Margarida Serra (Head of the Stem and Immune Cells Bioengineering Lab) – “Advancing the manufacture of hPSC-derived EVs for cardiac regenerative medicine”.
In addition, four poster presentations were also presented by iBET scientists:
- Pedro Vicente – “Billion-Scale production of functional hiPSC-derived cardiomyocytes in bioreactors through oxygen control and Wnt Activation”;
- Pedro Vicente – “Large-scale production of hiPSC enhances extracellular vesicles yields and cargo profile”;
- Beatriz Painho – “Scalable and chemically-defined differentiation strategy to generate γδ T cells from hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells”;
- Marta Costa – “Controlled activation modulates CAR-T cell expansion and phenotype in stirred-tank bioreactors”.
Participation in ISCT Europe 2024 offered iBET researchers the opportunity to present their latest research work and engage in valuable networking, further strengthening iBET’s position in the international Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) R&D landscape.
