iBET Hosts SOVENA Group Portugal Delegation
Strengthening R&D Collaboration for Sustainable Food & Health Solutions
On January 28th, iBET welcomed a delegation of representatives from SOVENA Group Portugal, one of iBET’s shareholders and a key player in the national agri-food industry.
The group was received by iBET’s CEO, Prof Paula Alves, alongside Eng. Maria Lina Dionísio (Executive Director for Sustainability for Food & Health at iBET and Industrial Director at SOVENA), and senior researchers Prof Maria do Rosário Bronze and Dr. Teresa Serra.
The meeting provided the opportunity to highlight and discuss past and ongoing R&D projects between the two organizations, particularly within the research areas of iBET’s Sustainability for Food & Health Division. The agenda also included a guided tour of the division’s labs and Technological Platform, exploring potential synergies and opportunities for future collaboration.
SOVENA, one of Portugal’s largest agri-food company groups, operates across multiple sectors of the food industry, including the production of cooking oils and olive oils, olives and olive oil by-products, soaps and agricultural solutions.
Under the ongoing VIIAFOOD agenda, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Program, iBET and SOVENA are currently collaborating on two R&D projects.
iBET is honored to host a long-term shareholder and partner like SOVENA and remains committed to advancing impactful agri-food R&D initiatives together.
