iBET Welcomes Dr. Mark Duerkop, CEO and Co-founder of Novasign
"Building the Bioprocess Modeling Marketplace: How iBET Innovations Can Power the Industry via Novasign Studio"
On March 26, iBET had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Mark Duerkop, CEO and co-founder of Novasign, for discussions on potential strategic partnerships between the two organizations, and an iNOVA4Health seminar.
During his presentation, Dr. Duerkop introduced the concept of a Bioprocess Modeling Marketplace, illustrating how mechanistic models, hybrid AI workflows, and digital twins can be transformed into reusable digital assets through Novasign Studio.
This approach aims to streamline knowledge transfer and foster data-drive decision-making across the bioprocessing ecosystem.

The talk highlighted selected case studies illustrating applications in:
- Biosimilars development,
- Viral vector processes,
- Nutrient uptake modeling for targeted feeding strategies,
- UF/DF modeling to improve yield and recovery,
- Scaleup, and
- Model-based process control.
Together, these examples showcased how advanced modeling strategies can shorten development timelines, improve process robustness, and reduce experimental burden.
