EVH Call for Experts to Join its Independent External Advisory Committee (iEAC)
iEAC will advise the EVH Steering Committee and provide scientific and strategic guidance for the project
The European Vaccines Hub (EVH) is launching a call for internationally recognized experts to join its Independent External Advisory Committee (iEAC).
This independent advisory body will support the EVH Steering Committee (SC) by offering advice on the Hub’s orientation and providing objective scientific, technological, and strategic guidance across the project’s activities, aligned with EVH’s mission to strengthen Europe’s pandemic preparedness capacity within its four core pillars.
Role and Responsibilities of the iEAC
The iEAC acts as an advisory board to the entire EVH and in particular to the Steering Committee.
In line with the governance structure and fully compliant with the EVH Grant and Consortium Agreements, the iEAC will undertake the following responsibilities:
- Advising the Steering Committee upon request of the Coordination, providing non‑binding advice to support SC decision‑making.
- Providing guidance to the Beneficiaries and the Steering Committee on scientific, technical, regulatory, and project‑related issues.
- Offering advice on compliance with European regulations, as well as with guidelines, laws, and regulatory frameworks applicable in countries where studies are performed.
Additional Strategic Advisory Functions
The iEAC will be consulted on whether an EVH open call should be launched, with the final decision resting with the EVH Steering Committee. Once decided, the consortium will inform HERA and HaDEA, which may seek input from the Independent Review Panel on an ad‑hoc basis.
The calls will be widely disseminated across Europe and evaluated through a transparent process managed by an Evaluation Committee chaired by the Project Coordinator and composed of the Steering Committee and at least three iEAC experts.
Relevant Competencies Required
EVH is recruiting distinguished experts with proven experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Vaccine technology platforms (mRNA, viral vectors, protein subunit, next-generation platforms);
- Monoclonal antibody development;
- Immunology, correlates of protection, and preclinical models;
- Clinical trial design, harmonization, and standardization;
- Clinical trial conduct/execution and relevant clinical practice;
- Regulatory science, CHIM models, and ethics frameworks;
- GMP biomanufacturing, scale-up, and process development;
- AI, data science, computational modelling, bioinformatics;
- Epidemiology, public health preparedness, outbreak response;
- BSL-3/BSL-4 pathogens and high-containment vaccine development.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and evaluated shortly after closure. Final appointments will be made by the EVH Steering Committee. Applicants will be informed of the outcome end of June 2026.
