Genomic Forestry Meeting: Eucalyptus meet genomics

The Genomic Forestry Meeting: "Eucalyptus meet genomics” (December 10, 2010 Oeiras) has brought together experts in one of the first meetings dedicated to this emerging field. This event was the result of the close partnership that has been developed between the IBET and IICT in the area of Forest Genomics. The meeting began with a welcome session presented by the Director of IBET, Dr. Paula Alves, by Prof. Pedro Fevereiro, who shed light to the successful collaboration developed between the Laboratory of Plant Cell Biotechnology (ITQB / IBET) and the "Centro Flor” (IICT) in the last nine years, as well as by Dr. Jorge Paiva (IICT-FLOR) initiating the presentations according to the agenda. The closure of this meeting was chaired by the President of IICT, Prof. Jorge Braga de Macedo, who highlighted the importance, the creation and the development of synergies as a result of the collaboration between the two institutions.
