iBET was present at 2019 PDA Conference on ATMPs
There has been a surge in clinical development of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs), also known as Cellular and Gene Therapy (CGT) Products.
In the beginning of June, the vice-president of iBET, Manuel Carrondo, co-chaired the 2019 PDA Europe Conference on Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs), held in Vilnius/Lithuania. PDA Europe’s ATMPs conference is a key conference for professionals working with cell and gene-therapy-based drug products. Major players from industry, research organizations and regulatory authorities were present to discuss on the advances and challenges encountered along the path of bringing ATMPs to patients worldwide.
The CEO of iBET, Paula Alves presented the work entitled Bioengineering Approaches for Functional Maturation of Human Pluripotent Stem Cells Derived Cardiomyocytes which demonstrates that metabolic-based strategies hold enormous potential to improve the development of cardiomyocyte-based products.
