iBET’s Affiliated Research Units Renew the FCT Seal of “Excellent”

iBET is proud to share that the Research and Development (R&D) Units iNOVA4Health – Advancing Precision Medicine (iNOVA4Health) and BioResources 4 Sustainability Unit (Green-it), where iBET participates, have once again been awarded Excellent” in the evaluation of the national R&D units process conducted by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).

Moreover, the iNOVA4Health Research Unit, coordinated by iBET since 2015, received the Top Rating – Excellent (5/5) – achieving the highest score in all criteria.

This prestigious recognition highlights all members commitment to excellence and innovation in the field of translational medicine, health and environment sustainability. These results reflect many years of hard work and the path taken to produce excellent indicators and outputs, as well as the merit of our vision for the upcoming 5 years.

An international panel of experts conducted this evaluation process, that included onsite visits to the research unit partners, revision of all activities from 2018 to 2023, and assessment of the strategic plans and organizational structure for the upcoming funding period 2025-2029.

The preliminary results of FCT’s evaluation were announced on Tuesday, April 15th. Out of 336 applicant units, 313 received funding for the 2025-2029 period, with 135 rated “Excellent”, 117 “Very Good”, and 61 “Good”.

iBET congratulates all those who contributed to this remarkable success – including our dedicated scientific and support teams and partner research institutions within iNOVA4Health (IPOLFG, NOVA NMS and ITQB NOVA) and Green-it (ITQB NOVA, IGC, INIAV and INSA).
