Best Poster Award for PhD student Melanie Matos at International Food Chemistry Conference

Melanie Matos, PhD student from iBET’s Natural Bioactives & Nutraceuticals Area, received the Best Poster Award at the 3rd Food Chemistry International Conference: Shaping a Healthy and Sustainable Food Chain through knowledge, held from October 10-12 in Dresden, Germany.

The recognized work, entitled “The healing power of chicory: anti-inflammatory effect of sesquiterpene lactones on the intestinal mucosa”, was awarded the best poster prize in the “Components in Food” category.

The international event brought together academics, governmental bodies, corporate research, and development specialists dedicated to advancing the fields of Food Chemistry and Biochemistry.
