Rosário Bronze is the new Head of iBET’s Food & Health Division

Rosário Bronze, Associate Professor at the School of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon (FFUL), is head of the Food Functionality and Bioactives Lab at iBET and ITQB NOVA and of the Toxicological and Bromatology Lab at FFUL. Her main goal of research is focused on Analytical Chemistry applied to the study of foods namely with respect to their characterization, quality, safety and authenticity. The characterization of by-products from the agri-food industry is also an important area of research. More recently her research has been focused on the beneficial health effects of food components, such as, phenolic compounds.  Rosário has been recently nominated as the Coordinator of iBET’s Food and Health Division which comprises 4 labs: Nutraceuticals and Bioactives Process Development (PI Ana Matias, 2nd left), Food Functionality and Bioactives (PI Rosário Bronze, 1st right), Food Safety and Microbiology (PI Teresa Crespo, 2nd right) and Molecular Nutrition and Health (PI Cláudia Santos, 1st left).
