Two poster awards for iBET at ESACT 2022 Conference

Congratulations to iBETians Joana Almeida and Maria João Sebastião for being awarded the 1st and 3rd ESACT2022 poster awards, respectively, at the 27th conference of the European Society for Animal Cell Technologies, ESACT2022, which was held in Lisbon, from 24 to 29 June.

Joana Almeida, from the Stem Cell Bioprocesses Team and our most recent PhD graduate, won the first prize for her work entitled “Recellularization of acellular liver scaffolds with functional HIPSC-hepatocytes generated using nature inspired bioprocesses”.

Maria João Sebastião, Research Associate at the Sanofi Satellite Lab, was awarded for her work on “Identification of mispairing omic signatures in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells producing a tri-specific antibody”, done in collaboration with Sanofi.

A special mention goes also to Rita Fernandes, PhD student at the Downstream Processing Lab, for also being selected to the TOP10 poster prize finalists with the work “A highly sensitive capillary electrophoresis methodology for viral vectors purification monitoring”.

iBET was heavily represented at ESACT 2022 meeting with 6 oral presentations, over 30 posters, more than 50 delegates, and over a dozen of volunteers who supported the conference organization, chaired by iBET’s CEO Paula Alves.
