Ana Luísa Simplício graduated in Chemical Engeneering in the Instituto Superior Técnico of the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa. She holds MSc in Quality Control of Food by the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Universidade de Lisboa and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry by Trinity College Dublin.

Ana Luísa Simplício is the Quality Control Manager of the Analytical Services Unit (ASU) of iBET, since May 2015. From May 2015 to December 2018 she was also the Head of ASU.

From 2004 to April 2015 she was responsible for the Quality Assurance of ASU and implemented Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in this Laboratory-Chapter 6/Quality Control (certification obtained in 2013).

Ana Simplício was responsible for the installation of the Analytical Laboratory at iBET and for the implementation of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) in this laboratory (1992), where she worked as a Study Director (pesticide decay analytical studies) from 1991 to 2000. Her hands-on technical experience is in the field of analytical chemistry particularly separation science (Chromatography, Capillary electrophoresis).
