Biography
Ana joined iBET in February 2025 as External Affairs Manager at the External Affairs and Communication area.
Ana Gomes holds a degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics (FCUL) and a PhD in Molecular Mechanisms of Disease (Copenhagen University), where she studied the epigenetic regulation of specific chromatin regions in response to stress signalling. During her postdoctoral work, Ana continued to explore the context of double histone modifications in different disease models.
In a career transition, Ana has applied her scientific knowledge to Science Management and Communication, further strengthened by her master’s degree in Science Communication (FCSH). Since 2018, Ana has worked as a Research Manager and Communicator at former Novozymes’ New Business Development – I&A, at the Twinning European-funded project, IMpaCT, and at the Associate Laboratory LS4FUTURE, where she was also responsible for managing the Career Development program.
