Short Biography
Andreia Verissimo joined iBET in 2025, working as a senior scientist at the Late-Stage R&D and Bioproduction Unit.
Andreia Veríssimo holds a degree in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL) and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from ITQB NOVA. After defending her thesis in 2008, she joined the University of Pennsylvania as a postdoctoral researcher, where she pursued her interest in understanding the relationship between protein structure and function. In 2013, she was appointed Research Scientist, further expanding her expertise in membrane proteins, protein biophysics, and molecular interaction analysis.
In 2018, Andreia joined Dartmouth College, where she directed three research core facilities. In this leadership role, she oversaw state-of-the-art platforms for recombinant protein production, biophysical characterization, and advanced protein analytics, enabling and supporting cutting-edge research across a broad range of scientific disciplines while fostering collaboration and scientific excellence.
In 2025, Andreia returned to Portugal to join iBET as a Senior Scientist in the Late-Stage R&D and Bioproduction Unit. She leads industry-collaborative projects focused on the development of next-generation biotherapeutics, driving innovation in process development and facilitating the efficient translation of scientific discoveries into manufacturable therapeutic products.
Passionate about scientific innovation, strategic partnerships, and translational biotechnology, Andreia is committed to advancing transformative therapeutic solutions that address unmet medical needs and accelerate the delivery of novel therapies to patients.
