Short Biography
Andreia Verissimo joined iBET in 2025, working as a senior scientist at the Late-Stage R&D and Bioproduction Unit.
Andreia Verissimo holds a degree in Biochemistry (FCUL) and a PhD in Biochemistry (ITQB Nova), where she characterized a variety of protein complexes involved in energy metabolism. Passionate about the interplay of protein structure and function, she joined the University of Pennsylvania, USA as a postdoctoral researcher, investigating protein targeting, folding, cofactor insertion and assembly.
In the past 6 years, Andreia went on to direct three core facilities at Dartmouth College, USA, where she oversaw daily activities and scientific, infrastructure and financial operations. There, she implemented an integrated pipeline for protein production in bacterial, mammalian and insect systems and developed a comprehensive package for protein analytics and quality control.
