Hélder Vila Real

I have been working as an Associate Scientist in the Analytical Services Unit at IBET since 2018. In this role I have built up experience in analytical chemistry within a GMP setting.

My background research areas are medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical biotechnology, specifically focusing on Alzheimer’s therapy. Special interests include development and qualification of analytical methods. Additionally, I also have expertise in organic synthesis, particularly in peptide synthesis, high-pressure bioreactions, and enzyme immobilization.

I hold a licentiate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from FFUL, University of Lisbon, Portugal (2006) and a PhD in Pharmaceutical and Therapeutic Chemistry from the same university (2011). My past professional experience includes roles as postdoc fellow at IBET (2012-2018) and as a monitor of Physical-Chemistry at FFUL, University of Lisbon (2005 – 2009).
