Biography
I am an Analytical Research Associate in the Analytical Services Unit at iBET, where I have been working since December 2019. In this role, I am responsible for the implementation, qualification, execution, and revision of bioanalytical assays under a GMP environment (Good Manufacturing Practices). Additionally, I am also involved in the elaboration and revision of procedures, study plans and reports.
Throughout the years, I have built experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques as well as expertise in statistical analysis and lab management skills.
I hold a MSc in Biochemistry from Health from NOVA Medical School, Lisbon, Portugal (2015) and a PhD in Oncology, Hematology and Pathology from University of Bologna, Italy (2019). Since my master’s project, I have worked in the field of glycobiology and oncology, in particular lung cancer and colorectal cancer. In 2016, I was awarded an Early-Stage Researcher Fellowship funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie H2020 Actions within the GlyCoCan project, an european training network composed of several professionals in academia and industry. During this period abroad, I studied the functional relationship of colorectal cancer-associated glycans with malignant phenotype and transcriptome changes, having the opportunity to undergo an internship in a biopharmaceutical company named Ludger (Oxford-UK), specialized in glycomics and glycoanalytical technology.
