Biography

I am the Head of Operations of the Analytical Services Unit (ASU), since end of 2018. In this role, I manage the communication with clients in a close and bidirectional manner.

I also schedule and supervise the analytical activities of personnel to ensure that all analyses are performed in a timely manner, in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Additionally, I am responsible for writing, reviewing, and approving procedures, study plans, and reports as part of our quality control activities. I also co-approve the results of quality control tests conducted for the release of biotechnology products for Phase I/II clinical trials.

I hold a degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2007) and a PhD in Biomedicine from Universidade do Porto (2014), in collaboration with Copenhagen Center for Glycomics, specializing in Onco/Glycobiology. My doctoral research focused on enhancing the characterization of the glycosylation profile of the CA125 biomarker to develop new assays for ovarian cancer detection.

During my research experience, I became proficient in several molecular biology techniques and gained expertise in the characterization of cancer biomarkers using MS-based glycoproteomics and glycomics approaches, on recombinant protein expression and purification, and on development of antibodies.
