My field of research cover both adaptive and innate immunity ranging from type 1 diabetes pathophysiology and type 2 diabetes dysmetabolism to macrophage responses upon liver damage. Special interests include the use of advanced flow cytometry for immune cell profiling. I hold a PhD in Medical Genetics from Umea University in Sweden completed in 2005. My past professional experience includes roles as postdoctoral researcher and lab/project manager at the Gulbenkian Institute for Science in Portugal (2009-2023).
