Biography

I am an Analytical Research Associate in the Analytical Services Unit at iBET, where I have been working since September 2023. My role focuses on quality control of biotechnology products for Phase I/II clinical trials, under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

During my routine in quality control activities, I am involved in method development, optimization, and qualification. To test these products, I employ a wide range of molecular biology techniques and cell-based assays. In addition, I am also involved in the preparation and revision of procedures, study plans and reports.

I hold a MSc in Veterinary Medicine, obtained in 2012 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Lisbon, and later I completed my PhD in 2023 at NOVA Medical School, Lisbon, Portugal. During my doctoral studies, I investigated the role of intracellular trafficking proteins in breast cancer progression, providing new insights into the molecular mechanisms of cancer. Through this work, I gained extensive expertise in cancer biology and in several molecular biology and cell culture techniques.

Prior to my doctoral studies, I worked as a Research Technician and Lab Manager at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência from 2013 to 2016. I was responsible for overseeing all laboratory operations, including managing orders and inventory, and ensuring proper maintenance of lab equipment. Additionally, I provided technical assistance on various PhD research projects, gaining extensive hands-on experience with a range of laboratory techniques.
